Percy Jackson
Last night we watched Percy Jackson and the olympians. I thought it was a great movie, but more than the plot, the symbolism behind it was so cool! SPOILER WARNING!!: The movie had one scene where the main character sees the girl he ends up liking while she is fighting.... and she starts by welcoming him back home, making him feel good etc. then she grabs his sword from him and reminds him to never let his guard down. This is the same thing the enemy does to us.... makes us feel good then takes us down. In another scene they have to not look Medusa in the eye or they will die and again life is like this, except opposite in our case we must look sin right in the eye in order to stop it. Another time they become so engaged in the happenings of the hotel (their world) thy don't care that they waste part of their life and risk the worlds safety to enjoy themselves. We are SO much like this its not even funny.... we not only put ourselves at risk but the whole world, we would rather spend our time doing what we want then sharing christ. We consume our lives with business and leave no time for people (future post coming soon). In my favorite scene one of the main characters had to be left in the underworld.... and the others had to go to Zeus in order to rescue him. I am so glad we don't need to send people to get God to rescue us and I am also glad we can go to God on behalf of our friends.
