For Christmas I got a keyboard (yippee!), snowmen playing cards, earrings, a planner, gel pens, bath wash, lip gloss, books, games, speakers for my Mp3 player, game boy games, and a gift card. : ) So overall I would say that I had an awesome Christmas!!!

December 26, 2007

I love the anticipation of the Holiday! The advent story, the baking and yummy treats to follow, the giving and receiving of gifts, the shopping, Christmas cards, the music, Christmas lights and decorations, Christmas movies, and seeing Jesus through it all! But as we talked about one of our favorite memories from this past year, we all agreed-- it was the "Twelve Days of Christmas".

We have friends whose dad is in Iraq this year, and when we came across this crazy idea we decided to share it with them. It began by shopping for something that would go with each day of the song (is.- can of pears, bag of Dove chocolates, a dancing shoe ornament, ect..). Then each day Rob would leave the gift, with a tag with each day's verse, on their front porch. One evening last week we stopped by their house to pick something up, and their girls couldn't wait to tell us about their 'angel'! We hope they had as much fun as we did!

On Christmas Eve we enjoyed our usual appetizer fest, followed by a visit to 'reveal' our 12th day of Christmas, and then on to the Christmas Eve service. I love singing the carols together! When we arrived home, it was time for dessert -- Birthday cake for Jesus. Each year we also open a family gift on Christmas Eve and enjoy it together. This year is was 2 games - Sequence (after the little girls went to bed) and Cosmic Catch. We had a great time and finally sent everyone to bed in time for Santa to come. Gum ball who still loves Santa, first set out a plate of cookies and a note and 2 pennies for him.:) Remember how fun that was?

We always share the Christmas excitement by sleeping in the same room together, and are awake EARLY Christmas morning; however, with the instructions not to get out of bed before 7am. But you can be assured they are in our room at 7:00AM, no later!! We were actually out of bed at 6:59.:)

The thrill is always the same-- seeing the arrival of baby Jesus under the tree, opening of stockings, reading the Christmas story followed by the completetion of our Advent story, and finally the gifts. I love seeing everyone open their gifts from me. This year we also opened gifts for the twins! We finally shared Christmas brunch together and enjoy playing for the rest of the day (mom/dad even had time for a nap:). Later, we joined Dad's family for Christmas dinner and family gifts. A delightful way to spend the day.

That was our Christmas!

Fun, Ecxiting, and wonderful!

I love the holidays. On Saturday we went to a light show at Clifton Mill. This took 6 guys 3 months to put together! There is 3.5 million lights there Although there where lots of people and mud there,we had fun. Then on Sunday we went to my Grandparents church. It was really fun and the other 3 kids really enjoyed singing Christmas carols with the people at the church's kids.

Fun Fun!

Last Christmas we gave my parents a gift from all of us without them knowing. We put are money together and talked Grammy into purchasing gift certificates for them for their date nights. The package was complete with free babysitting. We were so excited to give them their gift that it was the first thing we did Christmas Eve!

This year we presented them with our gift this year. We said (whether it was true or not I am not sure)that we knew they would be excited tonight and wanted them to enjoy opening their gift. Once again they loved their gift. This year we presented them with a scrapbook of our family, including the boys still in Haiti. They love it!

Merry Christmas to you all!!!

Kid Nation!

One of my favorite TV shows is Kid Nation a show where 40 kids live together for 40 days. The show ended last week and it was really sad. I can't imagine being on the show and having to say goodbye, because it was hard enough to "say goodbye" even though I never met them. In this show kids earn chances to be awarded $20,000 in gold! I think it would be fun to be on that show as hard as it would be. In the last show they all got to see their parent again. It was so cool to see them get to see their parents again and imagine you where part of the show.

Done!!!!

We finished school for Christmas break! Wahoo!! Out of school!
I like some of school It just gets tiring after a while, so it is food to be done for a while.

Catastrophism Vs. Uniformitarianism

Catastrophism-
The view that most of earth's geological features are the result of large-scale
catastrophes such as floods, volcanic eruptions, etc.
Uniformitarianism-
The view that most of earth's geological features are the result of slow,
gradual processes that have been at work for millions or even billions of years.

Both of these are different parts of science, I believe that catastrophism is true, but there are others who believe differently. There is no right or wrong, but according to the Bible preaches catastrophism. So which will you choose? Leave me a note and let me know!

Gum Ball

My 5 year old sister gum ball was singing this song today~
"Frosty the snowman was a very lovely person
With 2 button hearts. It was full of love.
Then we got married what a very happy day
with a corn cob pipe and two eyes made of
coal."

Oh how she makes us laugh! She is so funny! Were does she get this stuff??
She also came down stairs with Laffy Taffy (her Webkin) and Laffy was dressed like a baby doll! It was so funny! She brings us so much joy! I can't imagine only having 1 sister.

Missing bookworm

One of my friends (bookworm) and her family had to move to Virgina. I really miss her, our families were good friends. It has been really hard to see Gumball miss her best friend (bookworm's sister),but I still enjoy kepping in touch with her.

I LOVE YA BOOKWORM! KEEP TRUSTING GOD!

Paper! Gone!

This is a Narrative I wrote for English. It is really funny!!!
Gone!
When I was in college, my job was to feed the animals every night at the Richardson Zoo after everyone went home. One night, about a year after I had started my job I headed to the gorilla cage, 1st as usual, because I was deathly afraid of him and I got to his cage and realized the door was open and Mugsy the gorilla was gone! I called to the zoo security and said, ”Help, help, lose on the gorilla.”
“ Excuse me ma’m,” the security guard said, “what is the lose and how is it on the gorilla?”
“No, I yelled” The gorilla is on the lose” I could tell he wasn’t getting it. So trying to stay calm and not get upset I said “The gorilla got free, you know they can run lose.”
The security guard said “ That’s great”, because apparently he loved animals and didn’t like to see them in cages. So I am in this zoo with a security guard who doesn’t want to help, a bunch of animals, and a gorilla on the lose. So obviously, I had to do something. I just had figure out what. I decided the best thing to do was take some of the gorillas food with me and leave some in his cage. I went out searching for the gorilla and as I started out I found paw prints, but along side them were footprints.
“Hmm,” I thought that is strange. “Of course, there is always footprints around the zoo, but instead of going in there own direction this set seemed to have guided the gorilla. “That is strange,” I thought to myself.”Well, I said “ some one must have tried to take the gorilla and it looks like they are getting away with it too. I couldn’t believe it” Think of it our prize gorilla getting stolen! But why would any one steal a gorilla?” I couldn’t figure out why anyone would want a gorilla but, all the same I couldn’t let them get away with this. I didn’t know what to do to find him though.
So I decided to follow the footprints all the way past the bear cages on the other side of the zoo. The footprints seemed to go on forever. I followed and followed them until I reached the city. In the city square I saw a poster hanging from a shop advertising animals for auction. I ran to the place where the auction was to be held and found I was just in time. Mugsy was up for auction they were auctioning Mugsy! I had to do something had some money, I would win Mugsy back I decided. I started biding. The biding rose. “300”,I yelled.
The man next to me, who owned a circus bid 1,000. I just had to win. I was getting exited. The number kept rising. I finally bid 1,000,000 dollars! “Opps, I thought!” I don’t have that much!” Well, I had won the gorilla. I had also left myself broke in the process.

Done!

Well I finished school early today! It is like 11:50 and I am on the computer and I am only aloud on after everything is done. Me being on the computer tells you how fast I got done today.Which is most likely, because I didn't have Math or Science.(early start of break I guess)I will most likely be baking today as well as doing TOG with mom and Hershey. We don't have house church tonight, but we will hopefully have family night.

Frustrating!!!

Math is so hard and getting harder. Jellybean often walks around saying she doesn't like math b/c it's to easy! I just wish I could say that. I have been working with different measurements. I think some of it is b/c I don't pay attention and some of it is just that I do something wrong. Learning to remember every thing can be hard sometimes too.I will continue to try and do my best because of what the Bible says.

Busy weekend!!

This past weekend was so busy and made me so tired! First, my mom and I had this thing for foster kids at church. Then my parents had their Christmas party and we went to my grandparents house. I was up till 11:00. I had to share a room with my sister and I went to go to bed and she was still awake! (she is 5 and had gone to bed at 8:00)She threw up at about 12:00am and my parents picked us up at about 2:30 am! So I was tired and I slept in the next day. Talk about a tiring weekend!
