Sand Dunes

The Greatest thing we could have done after the backpacking trip was relax. We headed for the sand dunes which was amazing. Most of the kids headed off to get lost in the sand dunes, but by this point my knee was really bothering me so I had to just stay with the adults. I still rolled down a few dunes and got sand in my hair. :) Then a few of my friends came down and we went all the way down to the little stream and knocked sand castles over with it as we re-directed the river.  We went back to our camp site and worked on crew stuff for the rest of the afternoon. We also stopped into the gift shop and had story time...Ahh teenagers! That evening we went back out to the sand dunes. The sky was incredible! The stars were like I have never seen them. It is amazing that a God who made all that cares about me....but I am glad he does.

Backpacking Day 2 and Day 4

So apparently I need to learn to count but If you ask any of my friends at school they would tell you I don't count well at all. Anyway the second day we backpacked 7 miles to the trail head andset up camp. We got there around 1:30 and then we worked on stuff for our bronze awards. Then the next day we climbed the mountain. Then the last day we backpacked out 6 miles. Wich was fun, talking while you walk..... especially to people you enjoy talking to makes it way more fun. :) Then we went to a small town and got ice-cream and groceries then drove to the sand dunes. When we stopped we stopped in the greatest little town. Just like a town I would love to someday live in.

My Jesus Loves Me

Recently I have been feeling very lonely and been struggling to fit in. I went to youth group (something that I have really struggled with fitting in at so I have not been attending for the last year) basically because I was so lost. After youth (which hasn't changed) I sat on the front porch and cried for an hour because I was so lonely, but then I realized of everyone that is lonely Jesus was the loneliest. Something my mom said last night was that people who want to change the world like Lexi at http://choosingtowait.blogspot.com/ can't fit in with the world they are changing. So I am choosing to stand alone and change the world.

So then I went to bed not in a very good mood at all and couldn't sleep for hours. I rolled around for several hours and then finally gave up. I didn't want to bother my sister who sleeps in the same room as me so I pulled my Ipod out and watched a facts of life but I had seen them all on the way home from colorado so that didn't last long. I ended up just listing to Hillsong which was awesome. I am pretty sure some of those songs were not by Hillsong by they were just what I needed and I just started praying. I fell asleep last night in my saviors arms.

This morning I woke up tired because of being up but completely rested. I was going to go running but I was to tired and my knee was spazing out so I decided to go walking. Now one of the best ways for me to vent is to run I love getting it all out just by running and I was still stressed and worried about things in life. Hence, my walking trip turned into running because I just needed to run. I couldn't keep myself from running. So I ran as hard and as fast as far as I could till I basically fell over around the one mile marker. I took my Ipod with me for some reason as I never do, but as I got exhausted the words to the song were something about lift your head up and I did and saw the clouds. The sky was so blue and the clouds formed together in what looked like to me a heart. I just started crying/ walking home. I am so glad I know my God loves me and cares about me know matter what.

Satan: Bring on the loneliness and pain. You can't defeat me any longer. I belong to My "Mountain Moving, Awe-inspiring, Life Saving God"

Just wanted to let you all know I will pick back up on Colorado tomorrow. I have had a rough day so if you wouldn't mind praying for me that would be really nice. Thanks!

Live Like We're Dying

Good Song!
Live Like We're Dying Lyrics
By: Kris Allen
Sometimes we fall down and can't get back up
We're hiding behind skin that's too tough
How come we don't say "I love you" enough
'Till it's too late, it's not too late

Our hearts are hungry for a food that won't come
We could make a feast from these crumbs
And we're all staring down the barrel of a gun
So if your life flashed before you
What would you wish you would've done?

Yeah... we gotta start
Looking at the hands of the time we've been given here
This is all we got and we gotta start pickin it
Every second counts on a clock that's tickin'
Gotta live like we're dying

We only got
86,400 seconds in a day too
Turn it all around or to throw it all away
We gotta tell 'em that we love 'em
While we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we're dying

And if your plane fell out of the skies
Who would you call with your last goodbye?
Should be so careful who we live out our lives
So when we long for absolution
There'll no one on the line

Yeah... we gotta start
Looking at the hands of the time we've been given here
This is all we got and we gotta start pickin it
Every second counts on a clock that's tickin'
Gotta live like we're dying

We only got
86,400 seconds in a day to
Turn it all around or to throw it all away
We gotta tell 'em that we love 'em
While we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we're dying

Like we're dying, oh, like we're dying [x2]

We only got
86,400 seconds in a day to
Turn it all around or to throw it all away
We gotta tell 'em that we love 'em
While we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we're dying

You never know a good thing 'til it's gone
You never see a crash 'til it's head on
All those people right when we're dead wrong
You never know a good thing 'til it's gone

Yeah... we gotta start
Looking at the hands of the time we've been given here
This is all we got and we gotta start pickin it
Every second counts on a clock that's tickin'
Gotta live like we're dying

We only got
86,400 seconds in a day to
Turn it all around or to throw it all away
We gotta tell 'em that we love 'em
While we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we're dying

Mountain Pictures

My Camera hated me for taking it up so high so I picked the best ones but I probably took 50-70 pictures :)

You had to be there to experince it but the whole thing was breathtaking. I have never seen anything like it. So worth the climb (which wasn't that bad) and even worth the decent (which was way worse on my bum leg then climbing it) it was amazing. I love the mountains. :) Our God is SO big. I am glad he loves us that much!

Backpacking Day 2 part one

I have to say this was my favorite day. We went up 4,000Ft in four miles. It was a hard climb just with our daypacks but we had fun. The view was really worth it and I can officially say it has snowed in July now. :) I will post pictures of the view tomorrow.

Backpacking Day 1

After the Ghost town and Manitou and a final drive through Garden of the Gods. We backpacked in for a mile and set up camp. Pretty uneventful but it was beautiful. We had a good evening but that night was really cold and my sleeping bag was wet. Fun fun

St. Elmo

After driving for hours and eating lunch in the rain. :) We got to St. Elmo, a ghost town. It used to be a town with over a million people but there were several fires and now it is abandoned. Everything was really old, but none of it was open. A lot of it was under construction and some of it was privately owned. There were a lot of people there but the most exciting thing was the friendly squirrels. :) Fun times!

WOW!

This sight is eye opening!

Manitou Cliff Dwellings

I have no pictures of Manitou cliff dwellings, but it was really fun. In my opinion it was not worth the $10 to get in, but the whole thing was very fun. Don't stick a bunch of teenagers in caves. We crawled through them and had a blast! They had a small museum which was sort of interesting but the best part was playing in the gift shop. Indians have always interested me but it was cool to learn about another states indians. At this point it was still beautiful out and we all had fun.

The Blogger: Part 1

Hello, this is cinnamon toast crunch. Yup, the most scrupteous cereal around. P.S. I can't spell. But anyway, I don't really know whether I like Cinnamon Toast Crunch (this is a copyrighted name btw) but it sounded nice so that's all I'm gonna say except that Nut-Meg is a nice spice. The End.

Flying "W" Ranch

The Flying W Ranch is a working ranch in Colorado. Every night they host dinner and a country music show. I actually, surprisingly, really enjoyed the show much to my families shi-grin. It was very funny. The food was very good. My Crew and I had an awesome time playing "Liar" and just an all around awesome time. Now mind you this is still the first day, so we were exhausted! We went back to camp and completely crashed.

Garden of the Gods

Later that day we went to Garden of the Gods. A beautiful park with red rock near Pike's Peak. I have never seen anything like it. One Rock formation called "Kissing Camels" and another called "Balancing Rock". We climbed for a few hours and some people hiked around. It was really neat. I got the nickname "spider-monkey" because I was so fast. The whole experience was very fun and the day was very worth it!

Air Force Academy

During my trip we went to the Air Force Academy, and spent two night there. During the day between we took a tour of the academy. The chapel at the academy was great. The whole thing was stunning. It has a Presbyterian part on top then a Catholic, Jewish and, Buddhist part beneath. It seemed so unreal. As Freshman the cadets must walk on thin white lines in-between the sidewalk. It is a very strict school and everyone must play a sport. I have a lot of respect for these people and the way they support their country. Where would we be without them?
