Perfection

Dear Friends,

God has laid it on my heart to write this about how we are called to live.
1 Thessalonians 2:8
We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.

I recently read a book called "The heart Reader"by Terri Blackstock. In this book, there is a guy struggling in his faith, and one day wakes up with a "gift." He is able to "hear" people's souls, like what their spiritual needs are. After some persuasion, he uses it to lead people to Christ and ends up lead tons of people to Christ and starts a revival in his town. The use of his gift sets many other people on fire and they start to share their faith too. In the end he ends up losing his gift and has to learn to deal with life without it again.

Now I know you are probably thinking"Ok, nice story but what is the point" and if that was the end I would think the same thing, but its not.

When the man loses his gift he decides he can't serve the Lord any more. That he is not good enough to serve Christ without his gift. His wife tells him "Why can't you do something you used to do all the time, without your gift?" His response is simply God doesn't want me to use it any more, because he took it away and I can't share my faith without it. Then she says" Well why can't you share your faith without being able to hear people's needs? The rest of us learned how to do it."

Why is it so hard for us to share are faith?
-Is it because it is better left to the adults?
1 Timothy 4:12
Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.
-Is it because we are scared of the responses of people?
1 Corinthians 16:13
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong
Why is it??
-Do we not want to live the way God called us?
2 Thessalonians 2:14
He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
-are we just so in love with God that we keep it to ourselves? or are we so selfish?
Philippians 1:17
The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains.

Better left to adults
One day we will be adults. Why leave it till we are adults to spread the gospel? Why not practice now?
Scared of peoples responses
If we are truly Christ's Children then we are called to a higher standard anyway. Also we isn't the reward of heaven better than anything people can give.
Not live the way God called us
I don't think we do this on purpose. We just fill our life with other things an this is a result.
Selfish
Again, we aren't trying to do this, but is just the natural thing that comes with not sharing our faith.

I am sorry this is so long, but I hope it makes you think about changing our world by telling just one person about Christ. Set youtself a goal, and then achieve it. Think about what would happen if we all plant one seed in someone, and then someone comes behind us and harvest that seed. Think about all the people who would be in heaven because we got of our couches and computers and told one person about Christ!

WE COULD CHANGE THE WORLD OF TODAY FOR CHRIST! LETS SET IT ON FIRE!!!

Please share your thoughts!
